About Life Celebrants of Utah

My journey to becoming a celebrant began in 2017, with the death of my stepdad, Dan. Although he was a deeply believing Baptist, he had never become part of a faith community in Utah. The rest of our family is a hodgepodge of beliefs, from Catholics to atheists to members and former members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. None of us knew the just-right person who could take the time to learn Dan’s story and then plan and deliver a service that celebrated his unique life. 

Although we did not know it at the time, what we needed was a celebrant.

As the InSight Institute’s first certified celebrant in Utah, I am honored to help you and your family create a funeral or memorial service that mourns the death and celebrates the life of your loved one.

Whether yours is a family of birth or a family of chosen friends, I am here to honor your memories, share your stories, and recognize the significance of your loss.

Although life celebrants are new to Utah, you can take comfort in the experience I bring to this calling—including more than thirty years of experience as a professional communicator and more than twenty years of experience as a small business owner. You can rely on me to listen carefully and create a truly meaningful experience that will guide you and your loved ones in your journey of grief and healing.
